After receiving a judgment last month ordering Nas to pay over $44,000 in monthly child and spousal support, singer Kelis is now requesting an increase totaling over $400,000.
According to court documents filed by Kelis Rogers lawyer Laura Wasser, her client is entitled to more income since Nas allegedly grosses $244,826.00 per month.
In comparison, Wasser states that Kelis only generates 13,744.00 per month and is dependent on Nas to maintain her current lifestyle.
Kelis is asking for $17,225.00 a month in child support, $72,728.00 in spousal support, retro child support of $29,522.00, and retro spousal support of $281,571.
If the courts approve, Kelis will receive a total of $401,076.00 in addition to the $44,000 plus judgment decreed last month.
The July judgment will be reviewed in September, at which time a judge will make a final decision on what Nas will pay in child support, and how long he will required to maintain spousal support for his ex-wife.
The star couple divorced in April, with Kelis citing irreconcilable differences.
Both parties have kept the matter private, with Nas simply asserting he was a good husband and his happiness at the successful birth of his first son, Knight.

September 15th Lil Boosie will be releasing is first solo album in almost three years “Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz.” The follow up to his 2006 album “Bad Azz”, will be released on Trill Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. and Asylum Records. The lead single to “Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz” is “Better Believe It” and features Young Jeezy and Webbie. The video also was just released to video outlets and online. The album contains 16 tracks and features from Young Jeezy, Trina, Bobby Valentino and label mates Webbie, Mouse, and Lil Phat. The album will also feature production by The Runners, Mouse on the Track, Guss, B Real, Big Wayne, BJ, Maniac, and Nard & B. “With [SuperBad] I’m still hittin’ ‘em from all angles,” explains Boosie. Jay-Z brought Oprah Winfrey to Marcy; his old neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. Jay & O were chillin’ in Bed Stuy on Lexington Ave. & Lewis Ave.. Jay-Z’s block before moving to Marcy Projects; but they also spent some time in Marcy Projects. The rumor is that Oprah was filming for an upcoming show that Jay will be featured on and Jay was showing her where he came up; Allegedly they were joined by RIhanna also.
Oprah’s interviewing rappers for real now? Not just criticizing them? I guess Obama really did bring some change…
Obviously, Oprah has clout. She goes places for a reason and anything she’s a part of, turns rocks to gold. In 2009, there’s only ONE person who can bring her there and have her smiling: HOV.
